My experiments with my birthdate.

Ok. Now this is not another book inspired by Gandhian thoughts and his experiments with truth or anything. A week back, I was bored. I still am. But I was bored even then. So I decided to play a few tricks. Or perhaps experiment. So I promptly went to Orkut and changed by birthday ! From August 21 to August 23 !

A couple of days earlier I removed my birthdate altoghether. As a result, 21st was a relatively peaceful day with no birthday wishes on God’s own site and a few scarce phone calls. Forward to August 23. And my scrap book is filled with wishes. And inboxes are flooding too ! Overflowing.

I might not have replied to every message I got on the 23rd. But what I want to convey is I never did this to take the mickey out of my friends or anything. Nobody had ever tried this ’stunt’ before and hence I plumped for it. If I have offended any sentiments, I am sorry. ( Ok. I am not. )

It is really difficult to keep track of birthdays. Either you need a reminder on your cellphone or you need to be host of the most lavish birthday treats or you need to be studying in a wi-fied college *some people will get the hint* , for people to distinctly remember your birthday. Infact, I myself am really pathetic at it. Probably if someone plays the same trick on me, I’ll fall for it too.

I will be doing something of this sort again in a few months time for no plausible reason. The good junta who reads my posts even after the first couple of lines will hopefully not fall for it again.
